You would never guess these donuts are made of potatoes! Lots of fun flavors to try, but I got the vanilla sour cream and miso honey butter. The texture of these donuts is really light and soft with a crisp exterior. The glazes aren’t overly sweet, which makes for a delightful donut tasting experience. Highly recommend checking it out!

Can’t say enough good things about Downstate Donuts—the food is amazing, always fresh, the coffee is great, staff is so friendly and welcoming, and the inside is cozy. Just a heads up, they sell out FAST (I’m talking, before noon on any given day, fast). These are the best donuts in the city! My personal favorite is the miso honey butter, but really any donut here is fantastic. The breakfast sandwiches are made fresh and the portions are generous. This is a top notch breakfast spot

This place is super friendly and the donuts are hands down the best. I don't like my pastries too sweet and these donuts hit the spot. The flavor to sweetness ratio was perfect. I had pistachio lemon, carrot cake and brown sugar waffle all were delicious. They also were so helpful in making me a drink that was not on the menu, they were super accommodating. The customer service is top notch.

Literally the best donut I've ever had and it wasn't even the one I wanted, came in and they were out of most things (because everything is great) but the flavor I got was still SO good. I also got the specialty coffee Caramel De Monde, and it lived up to the quality of the donut. Will definitely be waking up early to get the best selection here next time.

Some of the best, most unique donuts I’ve had. These donuts are cakey with a slight chew to them, and I think them being made from potatoes lends them a pleasantly earthy taste. I got the Lemon Ricotta and Sweet Potato Maple. I had to stop myself from completely inhaling the Sweet Potato Maple donut it was that good. It tasted like a blend between a pumpkin spice cake and carrot cake. Best of all, it wasn’t too sweet. I will definitely be coming back and telling all my friends that this is thee donut place to go to in Chicago.
